Dr. Russell plays professionally in the health care industry, but his mission is to fill gaps in services for the underserved through philanthropic and for-profit ventures. He is a civil activist. He is coming to hold our hand and give us a kick in the pants.

Meet Stacey Burns, Vice President of Business Innovation at Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Colorado Institute for Social Impact (CI4SI)

Stacey is currently the Vice President of Business Innovation at Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Colorado Institute for Social Impact (CI4SI). The Colorado Institute for Social Impact seeks to educate organizations on the power of the emerging Fourth Sector of the economy using entrepreneurial strategies to solve social issues in our community. Stacey is working to increase the understanding and measurement of Social Return on Investment (SROI) through CI4SI, a process she has been developing since 2009. Stacey was chosen in 2015 to become a Beanstalk Foundation Leader, is Chair of the El Paso County Community Services Block Grant Advisory Board, and is on the Board of Directors for Peak Partnership and Homeward Pikes Peak. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from CU-Boulder and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from CU-Denver Health Sciences. Stacey loves reading, movies, and water skiing.

Meet Tom Downey, Attorney for Ireland Stapelton, advising on administrative, transactional, and disciplinary process related to liquor licensing and legalized marijuana. 
 
 
Tom Downey is a Director at Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC. With his significant experience as both a government official and private attorney, Mr. Downey helps his clients navigate all aspects of regulatory law. The majority of his practice consists of advising and representing corporate clients in the administrative, transactional and disciplinary processes related to liquor licensing, legalized marijuana and licenses governed by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. 
Previously, Mr. Downey led Denver’s Department of Excise and Licenses, issuing and regulating 25,000 business licenses in Denver in 180 categories. During that time, he redrafted Denver’s Policies and Procedures for liquor licensing and wrote the original Policies and Procedures for Denver’s legalized recreational marijuana licenses. Governor Hickenlooper appointed him to advise the administration and General Assembly on the legislation creating recreational marijuana.

Meet Jonathan Liebert, CEO and Executive Director of the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Colorado Institute for Social Impact, 
​
Jonathan is a Colorado Springs native. He is a recognized Leader in Colorado by the Beanstalk Foundation, and a Rising Star Award recipient from the Colorado Springs Business Journal. During his tenure at the BBB, Jonathan has increased awareness of the importance of integrity and trust in business and has revitalized the BBB brand that has played a crucial role in Southern Colorado for 40 years. Previously, Jonathan served as Vice President of AspenPointe Enterprises, where he spent 14 years building a stronger community through social enterprise, solving prevalent social issues, and serving disadvantaged populations. Jonathan is national chair for the BBB4Good project which is currently mapping social impact businesses throughout North America. Jonathan is currently building the Colorado Institute for Social Impact which is an education-based social enterprise created to enhance and organize the emerging Fourth Sector of the economy, that uses entrepreneurial strategies to solve social issues in our community.

Meet Nathan Dewey – Director- Responsible Association of Retailers-(RAR)
  
Dewey joined TEAM Wellness and Prevention in October of 2015. He is the Program Specialist for the Responsible Association of Retailers (RAR) program at Team W&P.  He oversees the operations and daily activities of RAR, which consists of a group of businesses who adhere to a Code of Ethics around the safe sale and service of alcohol and cannabis. Members are liquor stores, bars, restaurants, cannabis dispensaries and other businesses that provide a service to alcohol and cannabis retailers. Dewey also is an instructor for the TiPS and the TenderWise Cannabis RVP programs, provided by TEAM W&P and RAR. TiPS is a program that teaches responsibility and intervention in the service and use of alcohol. The TenderWise Cannabis RVP, is a program approved by the State of Colorado, CDPHE and the Medical Enforcement Division, that teaches responsibility in the cannabis industry. Dewey provides trainings every month for members of RAR and non-members who are interested in the TiPS and Cannabis RVP certifications.

Meet Heather Lauren Quiroga, fundraising strategist extraordinaire!
 
 
Heather Lauren Quiroga is a nonprofit Development Director, fundraising strategist and professional benefit auctioneer.  In past incarnations, she has worked as an event planner, art and antique appraiser, and writer.  Today she enjoys channeling these skills into the successful delivery of winning fundraising strategy for her nonprofit clients. Meet Grant Stump of Larimer County United Way, focusing on nonprofit collaboration.
 
 
After graduating from Colorado State University and six rather interesting months as a driving instructor, Grant found United Way of Larimer County through the AmeriCorps program. Grant has had the chance to be a part of the Community Impact team at United Way as well as the Resource Development Department, overseeing Corporate Engagement and the variety of companies that United Way works with. In his free time, he can be found exploring the outdoors, reading the most recent science book, or experimenting in the kitchen!
