Staff
One of the greatest assets at the Nonprofit Resource Center is its staff. The organization has a team of three dynamic women. They are creative, big idea people who get work done. They have a great sense of humor and drink a lot of coffee together. They put the FUN in Philanthropy.

Laurie grew up in the woods of Missouri; she started moving west to study Social Welfare (and basketball) at the University of Kansas. Laurie raised her three kiddos in Lawrence, KS, spending most summers in Estes Park at summer camp adventures. Finally, in 2013, she landed in the mountains and Estes Park for good!
Laurie has utilized her passion for service and advocacy in many areas of nonprofit management, direct service, coaching, and advocacy. She served adults with developmental disabilities, coached early educators in positive behavior supports, advocated for increased health access on a state level, and directed a nonprofit, cooperative preschool program. She also served as Parent Teacher Association President for many years, school fundraising event coordinator, and preschool board member.
In Estes Park, Laurie has used her skills at Estes Valley Investment in Childhood Success (EVICS), the Estes Valley Library and Cheley Colorado Camps. She is currently serving on the Family Advisory Board to the Estes Park Town Board of Trustees, the Communities That Care Coalition, and the EVICS Childcare Task Force and represents nonprofits on the Chamber of Commerce.
Laurie’s husband, John, is a Chef Instructor at Eagle Rock School. They are adjusting to an empty nest as Georgia is a freshman in college, Emma lives in Vail, and Lincoln resides in Chicago. When not enjoying the beauty of Colorado with her doggies along, Laurie enjoys treasure hunting at thrift stores and being artsy with friends.

“I was member of a nonprofit summer theatre troupe in downtown Niagara Falls as a kid. We would go and “pass the hat” after each performance. I consider that to be my first foray into fundraising. Who can resist a ten-year-old with a sparkly top hat? I am still a fundraiser, I am volunteer, I am a donor, and I am raising my family to believe that philanthropy is a family affair. You are never too young (or old) to get involved.”
Alison’s introduction to Estes Valley nonprofits began in 2000 through her work with Hobert Office Services. After a brief 13-year break to be a stay at home Mom, and a quick move to Maine and back, Alison was fortunate enough to begin working with the Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center in the Fall of 2015. Her time with the EPNRC has allowed her to be continually inspired. She believes there is always more to do and more to learn.
Life in Estes Park is lovely and she is so grateful to be a part of this community.

I have a long family history in Estes Park and am grateful to the generations before me that planted good seeds in this town. It feels wonderful to work together with, support, and promote the people and organizations who do good here. I am interested in a healthy and vibrant Estes Valley for me and my grandkids.
My strengths are in program management and marketing. I do the e-newsletter, the website, and graphics for the organizations. I also enjoy writing; I connect with member organizations to create the regular spotlight in the Trail Gazette, Nonprofits in the Neighborhood.
Fun Fact: I makes ceramic planters and sculptures inspired by Rockies.
