  • A $25 investment

The Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center hosted a workshop on how to start a nonprofit. One person who is interested in starting a nonprofit asked if we would waive the $25 registration fee. “No.” The reason for this is because if people or groups are serious about starting a nonprofit they need to invest in how to do it correctly. It is not easy to start a nonprofit but growing and sustaining a nonprofit has significant challenges. Many nonprofits have dissolved during this recent recession. If you cannot afford $25 to attend a workshop on how to start a nonprofit, how will you be able to afford the $50 fee to the State of Colorado and the $850 fee to the IRS for your tax exempt application? For those who want to start a nonprofit, please consider partnering and collaborating first.
